SANDPIPER INSURANCE – FOUNDER AND CEO

John Croes, LUTCF, is the owner and operator of Sandpiper Insurance Company. A native New Yorker, after graduation from prestigious Brooklyn Technical High School he enrolled in and received his BA in Economics from the University of Miami in Coral Gables, Florida. He worked on the business side at Miami Herald for 20 years before making a career change to the insurance industry. He began that career with a 13 year stint at MetLife before moving to the independent insurance agent channel. His time at MetLife gave him a solid foundation in life and disability insurance. Because many clients had a definite need for health insurance, out of necessity and constant study, he had to become expert in the various types of plans and options in both the group and individual markets.

Moving to the independent insurance agent channel gave him the opportunity to provide his clients products not available to captive agents. A 30 year resident of Davie, he has represented the Miami Herald on Broward County’s Kids Voting Board of Directors as well as serving as a Directors for the Davie Firefighters Pension Board. John and his wife, Rosalia, have been married for 42 years and have 2 children and 5 grandchildren. John enjoys tennis, chess, and fishing and currently maintains a tennis membership at Lago Mar Country Club in Plantation.

He offers a no out-of-pocket cost insurance review service to help people understand what are the advantages and disadvantages of continuing with their existing plan. If appropriate, he can recommend options that may reduce premium costs, increase benefits not available on current plans, or provide a more cost effective way of accomplishing his clients financial concerns. He has developed relationships with professionals in other industries to become a resource for his clients who may be in need of those other services.

He is readily available and provides his cell number to all clients. If you have moved, changed jobs, gotten married, had a baby, retired or have not reviewed your life insurance in the past 2 years he can help. Reach out, he is willing to answer your questions even if you do not wish to schedule an appointment.
